Xbox360 New License transfer tool

The new Xbox 360 License Transfer Tool on Xbox.com makes self-service, voluntary license transfers for content purchased through the Xbox LIVE Marketplace possible for our community.
The license transfer tool lets you consolidate your downloaded content licenses to one console. For example, if you downloaded items from Xbox LIVE Marketplace on one console, then purchased another console later on and downloaded more content to the new one, your content would be licensed to two consoles.
This tool lets you download your older content licenses to your new console.
You can find it on www.xbox.com/drm

Note:

  • You won't need the License transfer tool if you sent your console for repair as licences are transferred automatically during the repair, you might need to download them again. You can find the steps on the Console After Repair page.
  • The tool can used only once every twelve months.
  • Movie rental licenses are not transferred. So make sure you watch your movies before using this tool.

Below are the transfer steps:

  1. Finish the process on www.xbox.com/drm
  2. Attach a hard drive or memory unit.
  3. Turn on the console.
  4. Sign in to Xbox LIVE with the gamer profile that originally downloaded the content.
  5. Go to Xbox LIVE Marketplace and select Account Management, Download History.
  6. Select an item and then select Download Again.
  7. Repeat the 5th step for each item in your download history.

Note: The content is no longer licensed to the old console. You can only use it while signed in to Xbox LIVE.

Xbox Games Now Downloadable on Xbox 360 Marketplace

Timed to correspond with the five-year anniversary of Xbox Live, Microsoft has announced it will begin adding original Xbox titles to the Xbox 360's Live Marketplace for users to download to their hard drive.

Xbox Live first burst onto the scene in 2002, a year or so after the release of the original Xbox console. Since then it has gained around eight million users, completely dwarfing any other non-PC online gaming service.

On December 4, Microsoft will release a firmware update for the Xbox 360, which will include in part the ability to download specially chosen Xbox games from the Xbox Live Marketplace. Confirmed titles include Crimson Skies, Fable, Psychonauts, and of course Halo. The games will be priced at 1,200 Microsoft points ($15).

"On its fifth birthday, Xbox Live truly is the place for hanging out with friends and enjoying downloadable TV shows, movies, videos, game add-ons and now downloadable Xbox games on demand," said the Microsoft VP in charge of Xbox Live John Schappert.

It edges up the competition over digital downloads between Microsoft and Sony. Sony's Playstation 3 online store has been noted for its inclusion of full-length, high-capacity games including the PS3 game Warhawk. Xbox Live previously had been relegated to cheap, small casual game titles.

Microsoft will also be celebrating the five-year anniversary by awarding 500 Microsoft Points to anyone whose current Xbox Live account dates back to 2002. Additionally, beginning tomorrow, all users in the US will be able to download Carcasonne, an Xbox Live Arcade title, for free.

IPOD Update Issue

If you try to connect the IPOD to your Xbox 360 and it seems it won’t work, although it worked before.
Do you try downloading the optional IPOD support from the Xbox 360 Live marketplace, it's failing and you get one of these error messages ?
Status Code: 80070005
Status Code: 80070003

Actually this would be due to special licensing restrictions for this particular piece of content, it can only be downloaded once per profile. So if this is your second time trying to download it using the same profile, it won’t download. Even if you move the profile on another console, it won’t download.

So just to resolve this issue you will need to create a new silver account to download this IPOD update again or use a profile that never downloaded this IPOD update before, and all users will be able to access it.
I believe this would be resolving the issue.
