I'm trying to get my son's XBox 360 to...Hi

I'm trying to get my son's XBox 360 to connect to XBox live via our broadband connection. His connection was working fine until we installed a new modem and wireless router. The system is set up as follows:

Modem and router are connected to our main PC. Another PC in son's bedroom uses a wireless adapter to connect to the main PC and broadband. This works fine. XBox 360 is connected to an ethernet card in son's bedroom PC. I've set up a bridge in windows to connect the wireless adapter and ethernet card in son's PC. I can ping the xbox from son's PC and it finds the xbox, but usually misses one packet(?). When testing xbox live, xbox cannot get an IP address from the router.
I've plugged the xbox directly into the router using an ethernet cable and that works fine, so nothing wrong with router or xbox. It just seems to be the connection of xbox to son's PC that isn't working, but it used to before we changed router!

I've tried everything - reconfiguring network using ICS, renaming computers, setting MAC address in xbox. Nothing works.

Hope you can help.

Thanks

TrevTrevnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6126653682032696122.post-81847936791055659582009-03-27T01:15:00.000+02:002009-03-27T01:15:00.000+02:00Thank you so much!!!!! you have helped me so much ...Thank you so much!!!!! you have helped me so much after hours of searching and messing about, all I had to do is switch off ICA and then turn it back on!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6126653682032696122.post-80011016048373007272009-03-01T18:04:00.000+02:002009-03-01T18:04:00.000+02:00SUPERB posting! My first problem was that network adapter said disconnected but i put the firewall settings down and allowed sharing on network connections so it now says wired which is good.

Now it says IP address failed. Out of the hundreds maybe thousands of times i tried it once said IP confirmed but DNS failed then future attempts where IP failing again. Ive tried both automatic and manual settings. For manual i put: sub net mask: 255.255.255.0, IP: 192.168.0.2 and gateway: 192.168.0.1. If i do it on manual it says the gateway is not responding to a network connection and if i do it on automatic it says the DHCP isn't working. Ive ran cmd on my computer and done ipconfig /all and typed the info there but then it just says gateway address is invalid. And i also tried typing the info for DNS servers to but it still says gateway unable to establish connection. If you need eny more info i can post it on the additional details. Ive also tried unplugging all computers and restarting gateway and/or xbox. Thanks

I'm also pretty sure DHCP IS enabled. It says it is when i access my network settings via 2wire.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6126653682032696122.post-49733884756586658312009-02-07T22:58:00.000+02:002009-02-07T22:58:00.000+02:00Hii was just wondering if u could help me connect ...Hi
i was just wondering if u could help me connect to xbox live i tried ur steps at the top and they didnt work i am currently connecting through my laptop via ICSAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6126653682032696122.post-23066856208488572702009-02-07T07:02:00.000+02:002009-02-07T07:02:00.000+02:00HeyI have a Mac Laptop that I've connected straigh...Hey
I have a Mac Laptop that I've connected straight to my 360 using an ethernet cable.
