Xbox 360 Does not Load Games

If once you put a game in the disc tray but it's doesn't load, you still have the dashborad on the screen or its just says "Reading" then "Open tray". You'll need to check first that you didn't set your Xbox 360 to boot to the dashboard.
To check this turn on the Xbox 360 with no discs in the disc tray. Go to the System section then Console Settings then Start up make sure it's set to Disc not Dashborad.
If you select disc the Xbox 360 will play the disc when you turn it on. But if you select dashboard the Xbox 360 will stay on the dashboard when you turn it on.

If you did so and still not loading, try another thing. Make sure this issue isn't with this disc only. Try some other discs and DVDs if you have to make sure is it an issue with this disc specifically and by then you'll need to get another disc or it's the console itself.
You'll need also to make sure that your Xbox 360 is not overheating and it's in a well ventilated place.
Check that the date and time are set correctly. To check this go on the System section then Console Settings then Clock then Date and Time. If it's not set to the correct date and time, set them correctly.
The last step to try is to unplug the Hard Drive and try some discs without the Hard Drive attached just to test is it the Hard Drive or the Xbox 360 itself faulty. If you did so and it worked without the Hard Drive, it'd be obvious that it's the Hard Drive's issue. But if it didn't work it'd be the Xbox itself that needs service so you'll just call the Xbox 360 Cutomer Support to repair it for you.

Windows Live Messenger Issues

1- After you download the Spring Update , you get this error message :
"Windows Live Messenger is not available from a Windows Live Child Account"
This happens when you try use the new Messenger feature - available on the Xbox 360 after the Spring Update - using child account or graduated account ( user created it before his age is 18 and now he is over 18 )
I checked this with Xbox customer support and they said they are aware of this issue and they are still investigating it.
In the mean time all you can do is create new gamertag with new Windows Live ID, but make sure the age of the account user is over 18.

2- Can't find the display name in the Xbox 360 dashboard.
If you can't find your display name in the Xbox 360 dashboard, just go to this link
Sign in to your messenger and change the display name to the one you want to be displayed. Then sign out from the messenger and sign in again . The issue will be resolved.

Recover Xbox Live Profile to Xbox 360 Hard drive or Memory Unit

What would you do if your profile is deleted ? Is it lost that way ? Won't you get it back ?
It's not lost and sure you can get it back. You only need to recover it on your Hard drive again.
And what would you do if you want to play on your friend's Xbox but using your own gamertag?
You only need to recover it on his Hard drive.
To recover your Xbox Live account , just follow the following steps :
1- If you are signed in to a profile, sign out. Go on the Xbox Live section of the dashboard, press the X button twice on the Xbox 360 controller then select Yes, Sign out.
2- In the Xbox Live section, Select Recover Gamertag from Xbox Live, then press the A button.
3- Follow the directions on the screen to complete the account recovery.
And you will download your account again from Xbox Live server on the hard drive or the memory unit.

NOTE - If you recover the Xbox Live account on hard drive or memory unit, the other copies of this Xbox Live account on any other hard drives or memory units will be disabled.
- If you recover your profile from original Xbox to Xbox 360, the copy of the profile on the original Xbox is not disabled unless you recover it on an original Xbox.
- If you have a pass code for the Xbox Live profile that you will recover it will be erased and you will need to create new pass code. But on the original Xbox it won't reset the pass code for this profile.

Migrate Xbox Account From The Original Xbox To The Xbox 360

If you have an account (a gamertag) on the Original Xbox and now you got the Xbox 360 and you want to enjoy the new features of the Xbox 360 Live but you want to keep the same profile. You only need to migrate your Original Xbox gamertag to the Xbox 360, just follow these steps:

1- First make sure the internet connection is ok on the Xbox 360 console.
2- If you are signed in to a profile on the Xbox 360, sign out.
3- In the Live section in the dasboard of the Xbox 360, Select Recover Gamertag from Xbox Live , then press the A button.
4- Follow the directions on the screen untill you complete the account migration.

- If your Xbox Live account has Windows Live ID you need to enter your Windows Live ID and your password.
- If you don't have Windows Live ID (email at hotmail.com,msn.com), you need to create a new one or you can use your own email but you will need to register it with microsoft on passport.net

NOTE : Trial accounts cannot be migrated to Xbox 360.
Accounts having billing issues cannot be migrated to Xbox 360.

IPOD Update Issue

If you try to connect the IPOD to your Xbox 360 and it seems it won’t work, although it worked before.
Do you try downloading the optional IPOD support from the Xbox 360 Live marketplace, it's failing and you get one of these error messages ?
Status Code: 80070005
Status Code: 80070003

Actually this would be due to special licensing restrictions for this particular piece of content, it can only be downloaded once per profile. So if this is your second time trying to download it using the same profile, it won’t download. Even if you move the profile on another console, it won’t download.

So just to resolve this issue you will need to create a new silver account to download this IPOD update again or use a profile that never downloaded this IPOD update before, and all users will be able to access it.
I believe this would be resolving the issue.

Play Original Xbox Games on The Xbox 360

If you have your original Xbox games and you want to play them on your Xbox 360, first you need to make sure that the game you want to play is supported .
It should be one of these games.
All you need to do is to get an update for your xbox 360 console using any of these methods:

1 - Xbox Live update:

This is the best and most efficient way to get it, first sign in to Xbox Live with silver or gold membership, and if you don't have one it will be better if you can create it, using even a free silver profile would be better than using any of the next two options to download the update.
After you are signed in with your profile put an original Xbox game in the disc tray, and close it.
This will start the backward compatibility program , If there is any update needed , it will start.
NOTE After you start this process, you must complete it, because if you failed to complete the installation process, your Xbox 360 won't be able to play any original Xbox games until you finish the installation.

2 - Download the update on the pc and copy it on a disc:

You will need to download the backward compatibility update file from xbox.com on your computer.
1- To download it go to this link.
2- Then copy this update you downloaded on a CD or DVD.
3- After the CD or DVD is ejected from the computer disc tray, Put it in the Xbox 360 console and the update will run automatically then select Continue to complete the update.
4- Wait until the update is completed, the system will have the operating system software updated.
Then select Yes, update now. Then press the A button on the controller, the console will restart and you will be able to play your original Xbox games on the Xbox 360.

3- Order a disc from xbox.com
You can order the backward compatibility disc directly from Xbox.com website through this link and you will recieve it withen 2 or 3 weeks.
When you receive the disc put it on the console.
Then the update program will start automatically, then select Continue to apply the update.
Wait until the update is completed.
Then select Yes, update now. Then press the A button on the controller , the console will restart and you will be able to play your original Xbox games on the Xbox 360.

4- Select Gamertag.
5- On the Edit Gamertag screen, follow the steps on the screen.

How to Create Xbox 360 Live Profile

If you want to go on Xbox 360 Live, you will need to have Xbox 360 Live enabled profile (online gamertag).

These are the steps to create a profile on Xbox 360 Live :
1- First you need to make sure the Xbox 360 Live is connected to the internet.
2- If you are signed in to a profile, sign out.

4- Then press the A button twice and follow the steps on the screen.
5 - During the creation of your profile you will be asked to choose the membership type you want either Silver membership or Gold membership.

I'd advise you to choose Silver membership if this is your first, second or third online profile on this console.
As for the first three Xbox 360 Live profiles you are eligible for 1 Free month Gold trial if you choose Silver membership. It will be upgraded automatically to Gold but only for 1 month free.
After this month you will be downgraded to Silver or you can extend your sybscription either for 1 month, 3 month or 12 month using either a credit card ( Visa card, Master card or American Express ) or a prepaid card.

Note if this is your after the third online profile on this console, you can't have this free month gold trial.
And if you create this gamertag on xbox.com you won't have the free month gold trial.

Xbox 360 Live Friends List does not appear in the dashboard

What would you do if you turn on your console, sign in to Xbox 360 Live but can't find your friends list in the dashboard ?

Don't worry just follow these steps & you will recover your friends list :
1- First turn off the console then turn it back on again.
2- Sign in to Xbox 360 Live using the profile having this issue.
3- Ask someone from your friends list to delete you from his or her friends list.
4- Send friends request to the same person who deleted you before.
5- Sign out from Xbox 360 Live , then sign in to Xbox 360 Live again.
